“What do you do with a B.A. in English? What is my life going to be?
Four years of college and plenty of knowledge
Have earned me this useless degree
I can’t pay the bills yet ’cause I have no skills yet
The world is a big scary place
But somehow I can’t shake the feeling I might make
A difference to the human race.” – Avenue Q
I am a girl taking grad school by storm one day at a time. I work hard to maintain great grades, which is something that I haven’t done before. When I am not studying, I am teaching Freshman Composition or running the English Graduate Student Council at my university.
Academia was never a love of mine growing up and it didn’t become one until towards the end of my sophomore year of college when I started to think about grad school. Even still, I needed to take a few years off between undergrad and my grad program to determine that I really did want to give up my (very decent, livable wage) job to go back to school and pursue my dream while eating ramen noodles again.
This blog is a compilation of my grad school experiences, fails, dreams, hopes, nightmares, etc. I hope that you enjoy it.
